Here we describe tested or modified orchid propagation techniques. With a little patience and curiosity, this is also possible at home with a small budget. In addition to seed sowing, which is a generative propagation method, there are also vegetative methods in which the produced plants are identical to the plant that donated some of its parts (e.g. nodes of a flower stalk, buds in a new shoot, ...).

Vegetative propagation

This type of propagation gets used when you want to make copies of a plant. We start our tour with the classic methods and then look at how the propagation takes place via buds, tissues and meristems in an in vitro laboratory.
