Here we describe tested or modified orchid propagation techniques. With a little patience and curiosity, this is also possible at home with a small budget. In addition to seed sowing, which is a generative propagation method, there are also vegetative methods in which the produced plants are identical to the plant that donated some of its parts (e.g. nodes of a flower stalk, buds in a new shoot, ...).

Growing Pinguicula together with orchids

Pinguicula plants are carnivorous plants and they are available in hardware stores for little money. We grow them together with our orchids on the window sill.

closing in vitro flasks with cling film

The inner side of a cling film role is sterile and can be used as a closure of in vitro flasks. I increases the light in the flask and it's really cheap.
