Rainforest hiking tour

We visited the rainforest two times. The first time we spent 2 hours with a group in the forest. The paths are in good conditions, so you donīt need special shoes. If you want to see more than the "normal" program you should book a longer hiking-tour through the forest like we did at the second time. We spent about 5 hours in the rainforest. For this tour you need hiking-shoes because the paths are not as good as those on the the 2 hours tour are. It is recommended to go with a local guide because they know which path you have to go. We booked our tours at Paradise Tours and we enjoyed them a lot.

We found this orchids:

Epidendrum (probably latifolium)

Most of this orchids grow epiphytic on trees in partial shade close to big bromelias.

Maxillaria coccinea

This Maxillaria can be found epiphytic on trees in full shade. You can see their red flowers from far away.

Spathoglottis (probably plicata)

This big plants have leaves which look like the leaves of Phaius. Most of this Spathoglottis grow in sunny or partial shaded meadows.

terrestrial miniature (probably Cranichis muscosa)

On the path in the full shade we found this small terrestrial orchid.

epiphytic miniature

Most of this epiphyts we found on orangetrees and palms close to little villages.
