St. Lucia is located about 30 km north of St. Vincent and the same distance south of Martinique. The island is 45 km long and 25 km wide with a lot of "small" mountains (volcanic origin) and great forests. The highest mountain (Mount Gimie) is 958 m high and has a beautiful rainforest where you can find orchids and sometimes the very rare St. Lucia parot appears.
