In the following report we want to show you our native orchids which are growing here in Austria. They are all terrestrial orchids because in winter itīs to cold and so they have to stop their acitivities (time of rest).

Beside loving tropical orchids we enjoy it to spend a lot of time outdoor in the nature where we took a lot of pictures which we want to publish here.

If you want to find orchids in Austria you donīt have to spent a lot of time but you have to look very careful because most of our orchids have small flowers which are difficult to find.
Orchis militaris
Most of our orchids can be found close to rivers or in marshy countries. Some of them love direct sun, others prever shady conditions in the forests.

All of our orchids are protected plants, so please take photographs but donīt remove plants or parts of it.
